Safety & Dress Code

2

For the safety and comfort of all riders and horses, we ask that the following dress code be followed for every lesson.

Helmets

  • All riders are required to wear an ASTM/SEI certified equestrian helmet.

  • Helmets designed for other sports are not permitted.

  • If you do not own a helmet, we have a selection available to borrow.

Pants

  • Full-length pants are required for all riders.

  • Shorts and skirts are not permitted.

  • Cultural or religious accommodations can be made—please let us know when booking.

Footwear

  • Riders must wear boots with a small, defined heel, such as riding boots, hiking boots, work boots, or rain boots.

  • Sneakers, flat-soled shoes, open-toed shoes, and “Ugg”-style boots are not permitted.

Fitness & Rider Guidelines

3

Horseback riding is an athletic activity that requires balance, coordination, and core strength. Our guidelines are in place to ensure safety and a positive experience for both rider and horse.

Fitness Expectations

Riders should be able to:

  • Mount a horse using a mounting block without assistance

  • Lift their foot approximately 30 inches to place it in the stirrup

  • Pull themselves into the saddle with reasonable effort

For the safety and comfort of both horse and rider:

  • Rider weight should be proportionate to height and overall strength

These guidelines help ensure balance, reduce risk of falls, and support the long-term health of our horses.

Our instructors reserve the right to:

  • Request verification of information provided

  • Make exceptions at their discretion

  • End a lesson if safety becomes a concern

Our Commitment to a Positive Environment

4

Jeneration Horseworks is a place to learn, grow, and connect. We believe horses are incredible teachers, and time at the barn offers riders an opportunity not only to develop skills, but to build confidence, responsibility, and self-awareness.

We welcome:

  • Beginners and experienced riders

  • Children, teens, and adults

  • Riders seeking competition or riding purely for joy

Every rider is encouraged to ask questions, be curious, and learn at their own pace.
